While details are scarce about the most recent Star Wars spin off update, cheers for diversity can be heard at LucasFilm headquarters today.
Film producer Kathleen Kennedy and Jon Favreau at Disney together announced the monumental decision to cast Wanda Sykes, a multi talented gay and African American woman as the role of Jango Fett, Boba Fett’s father.
Kathleen, a champion of women’s rights in Hollywood doubled down on the “future is female” rhetoric by telling us what we really need to hear:
Times are changing. It’s not a mans world anymore. Our young girls are watching. Always watching and always looking for positive role models in every aspect of their lives. Well we hear you and we are responding. And to you we say — you can be what ever you want. No more princess or bust… if you want to be a bounty hunter now you can!
The crowd of reporters circling Kathleen outside of Disney’s very own Galaxy’s Edge where she held her press conference roared with applause as Kennedy trailed off to take a sip of her White Chocolate Mocha Java chai Blended Starbucks Coffee.
Kathleen went on to explain that it was a no brainier on who to cast and that Wanda was her first choice. “Wanda is not just a talented actress, she is also a person of color. With bigotry and xenophobic trolls lurking around every internet corner, what better way to smash the fash than by giving the fans a healthy dose of diversity?”
She then alluded to one more secret tidbit from the film. Jango Fett’s wife will have a role in the upcoming Fett film. Jango fett’s love interest is being played by a post op Wookie named Wullffwarro. Wullffwarro and Fett meet during the bounty hunters run to the Wookie native planet where xe is being paid to round up slaves for the federation spice slave trade. It is there they supposedly fall in love. While Kathleen would not say who was going to be playing the Kashyyyk native, she did silently mouth an answer that looked a lot like Melissa McCarthy.
“A wookie is the most logical of choices for Jango’s love interest.” Kathleen explains to reporters. “And our beloved Boba? Well he might just have some fur.” She added.
It covers all facets of what make America great and unique in 2019. Our viewers in Interracial relationships can view this movie and know that we at LucasFilm get it. We understand and you are not alone. And to those not in interracial relationships… what the hell are you waiting for? They are in all the movies. Go try it out. The furry crowd? There is a home for you in the Star Wars galaxy as well.

At the tribune we could not be more ecstatic about the Star Wars film. The world needs a black, gay and female lead. The old films never did state Jango was not not black. For far too long have white males dominated the box office. And while we may have lost our very own Brie Larson to White Supremacy… we can assure you the move to cast Wanda is the right one.
While we could not reach Wanda for comment her spokesperson Donald Crispen tells us that Wanda is very hopeful. “She has been attending Brazilian Jujitsu classes once a week preparing for the role. She has been flooded with Jango source material to read up on. She has been locked away in her study preparing.
Wanda’s twiter was recently updated with this cryptic message: “If you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it.”
