Mixed breed dog escapes from shelter, crosses Expressway to maul toddler at Park.

AUGUSTA GEORGIA — The Augusta city pound has to answer questions from the mayor today as to why a pit bull was allowed to exit the shelter and maim more victims only hours before his scheduled lethal injection.

Half border collie half pit bull, Mr. Pibbles, made the front page of Augusta Sentinel last November at a local Beach when it swam nearly a half mile into a very choppy Lake Nogale, only to climb into the canoe of local campers and rip the tendons out of the leg of one victim, and the thumb off another camper who tried to intervene with the struggle.

Local police described it as both a “bloodbath” and “Miracle there were no fatalities”. Viral video show the bloody canoe empty of all life except for Mr. Pibble slowly wash up to the shore where two police and a dog catcher then bring the dog to Justice with a catch pole and a sedative.

While the public thought it was the last they were going to hear of Mr. Pibbles, Mr. P was not done terrorizing the community.

Late last evening police release security footage from the Augusta city pound that show Mr. Pibbles bite the lock mechanism off his kennel door and exit his cell.

“The bite force of these animals is outstanding” Marcus Vick, local rescuer of pit bulls in Augusta says. Marcus, a pitbull lives matter activists has followed Mr. Pibbles Case since last November and has already successfully petitioned his County to free the pup so he can rescue him. The most recent incident May put a nick in Marcus’s plans.

Video shows Mr. Pibbles exit his pen, climb onto a chair, then desk, and then on to a 7 ft tall storage cabinet — only to launch 5 feet to an open second-story window. The footage shows that determined Pooch jump out the window 20 ft to his freedom.

Aerial footage from Street Lamp cameras then show us something truly remarkable. The Crafty dog navigates five Lanes of busy traffic, going through the MLK Expressway completely unscathed. Police asume the pup was following the sounds of child laughter emanating from a nearby playground. After hopping another four foot barrier that half-breed can be seen chasing several young children like pray until locking onto the Leg of the slowest child. Thankfully a bystander and off-duty police officer Michael Thomas was present and the dog was shot three times at point-blank range and the young boy’s life spared.

While the boy is suspected to live he needed 37 stitches in his left leg and reconstructive Facial Surgery as half of his skin was literally ripped from his face. Off-duty detective Michael Thomas says he “just did what anybody with a gun would have done”. And while the mother of the boy could not be reached for comment dog activists Marcus Vick could. He still intends on following the legal course of freeing Mr. Pibbles despite what happened stating “Chihuahuas bite more people” and that the dog is a half-breed and it’s “unfair to lump it with all pit bulls“.

He also said it’s noteworthy to add that the dog showed good will and restraint by only biting half of the boys face.
