Microsoft has been buying up a storm and this week they announced the acquisition of Fuji TV.
What Nintendo failed to realize is that FujiTV are the original creators and patent holders for the Doki Doki panic engine on the NES. Doki Doki panic introduced Shy Guy, Birdo, Mouser, Wort and more. While at first glance you would think they are Nintendo characters they were actually developed by Fuji TV. And they are the rightful owners.
While Microsoft promises not to sue Nintendo for royalties that these characters generate, they promised a brand new Microsoft Xbox game starring Shy Guy and Birdo.
Phil Spencer tells us that unlike traditional Nintendo games, Shy Guy and Birdo are going to be starring in the first ever action RPG LBGT adventure role. Something Phil says will be a first of its kind titled: Shy Guy & Birdo: goodbye to the age of innocence.
I for one can’t wait to see what they come up with!! Go Microsoft.
