Rawwwwr! Watch out Sabertooth there’s a new X-man in town, and she’s not a man, man. That’s right, as confusing as it may sound, Disney is battling for equality in new and exciting ways, and breaking down gender roles in the process.
Rumor that had a Young Logan to be played throughout the movie in a series of flashbacks By Zoe Salada, (prior to the female-to-male transition) has been confirmed.
“We knew Idris was the way to go for the next Wolverine but Zoe Saldana was the wildcard” says screnplay Writer Christopher Markus.
But eventually the normally tight lipped writers caved and gave us a little bit more story. They also tell us that the hero is going to be transitioning from female to male, and contemplates suicide several times until meeting a young Nightcrawler, (played by John Legend) who understands Logan (previously known as Lana) more than she realizes. After Logans brief stint in Alpha Force he/she is recruited to the top secret adamantium Next program to become the Wolverine we all know.
This completes the female-to-male transition onscreen and after the transition is over Elba is what comes out of the tank. Her adamantium infusion is a 6-month process where she is given the highest levels of testosterone acceptable on a daily basis without dying. The entire time she’s in a state of suspended animation… with her breasts binded. We think this added touch will really resonate with the fans.
Heavyweight Disney executive Michael Eisner also weighed in:
The days of whitewashed comic book stories are over that much is aparent. Say goodbye to your parents and grandparents superheroes.
The future is evolving. But we really wanted to knock this reboot out of the park and satisfy several politically correct itches at once. So yeah, its only logical to have a biracial Wolverine. But a female transitioning to male wolverine? Brilliant.
Not much is known about any other characters in the franchise yet. The only other thing we have confirmed so far is that Idris has signed on for two marvel films both untitled so far, and both writers from the Avengers End Game Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely return to the Marvel universe.
A few female Twitter advocates such as Alyssa Milano have weighed in heavily on the whole X-Men thing as well, wondering if the title itself is sexist?
Alyssa says:
Are you serious? I mean look at the name. “X-Men”? “Men”? That is so offensive, sexist and racist. How about “X-People”? Maybe “X-Squad”? How many women are in the world, boycott until the name is changed!
